OREANDA-NEWS. May 31, 2013. Under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Mohammed bin Saleh Al-Sada, Minister of Energy and Industry, Qatar Petroleum (QP) recently honoured a total of 731 employees who have been serving the corporation for the past 10 and 15 years.
Held at the Al-Dafna Hall of the Sheraton Doha, QP’s annual Continuous Service Award (CSA) Ceremony gave recognition to 418 employees who have completed 10 years of service thus far and 313 staff who have already put in 15 years of service with the corporation.
In his keynote address on the occasion, Mr. Ahmad Ali Al-Mawlawi, Director for Administration of QP, said: “Qatar Petroleum has continued–and will continue–to invest in sustainable strategies to develop and retain its most valuable asset – the Human Capital. The dedication of thousands of our employees is a strong indicator that we are on the right path in keeping pace with the continued growth of the vibrant oil and gas industry in Qatar under the wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani, the Emir of the State of Qatar.”
After his speech, Mr. Al-Mawlawi presented each of the awardees with a gift and a Certificate of Appreciation signed by H.E. Dr. Al-Sada. The event was also attended by many senior QP officials, the families and friends of the honoured employees as well as by members of the media.
The CSA Ceremony held on May 22 was the second to be held by QP last week, following the first CSA Ceremony on Tuesday, which honoured a total of 356 employees who have reached a milestone of between 20-40 years of service with the corporation. In addition, as part of this year’s CSA Ceremony, 869 QP employees will also be receiving certificates for having been employed with the corporation for the past 5 years.
As before, this year’s awardees come from QP’s various directorates and departments covering the corporation’s extensive operations in Doha, Dukhan, Ras Laffan Industrial City, Mesaieed Industrial City, Halul Island and other offshore areas.
Organized by QP’s Public Relations and Communications Department in partnership with the Administration Directorate, the annual CSA Ceremony is one way by which QP honours its long-serving employees, thus recognizing their valuable contribution in the corporation’s continued growth and in the continued development of Qatar’s oil and gas industry.
