OREANDA-NEWS. The Furukawa Electric Co., Ltd., and Furukawa Techno Material Co., Ltd. are successively launching four new products in the form of materials and fire proofing measures for cables and piping that penetrate walls and floors in fireproof compartments installed inside buildings. By providing a group of diverse products, we are working to improve convenience for users while responding to construction site needs.

The products will be shown at the 61st Electrical Construction Equipment and Materials Fair (JECA Fair 2013), which is held from May 29th to 31st.

By law, wherever cables or wiring penetrate the walls and floors of fireproof compartments installed in given areas in buildings and ships, it is obligatory to install fireproofing measures with a fire-resistive performance of one hour accredited by the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism in the case of buildings, and fire proofing measures with a fire-resistive performance of 1 hour accredited for ship classifications worldwide in the case of ships.

As a pioneer of fireproofing measures, Furukawa Techno Material Co., Ltd. has provided a range of materials and methods of construction over a quarter century. Recently, building specifications and needs at building sites have been diversifying, and there is a demand for methods and materials that can be adapted to various types of constructions. In addition, the job is made easier when the construction is uncomplicated and the structures are simple and lightweight, which increases convenience for the contractor. Therefore, we have now expanded our lineup with new materials and new construction techniques for both construction use and marine use, including DANSEAL-KP, a newly developed lightweight and fireproof putty. These materials are either pending, or have passed official fireproof testing to obtain accreditation, and are expected to go on sale in order of precedence.
