OREANDA-NEWS. SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev received Swedish delegation led by Secretary General of Swedish Trade Ministry Gunnar Oom.

 Welcoming the guests, SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev estimated their participation in the 20th International Caspian Oil & Gas Exhibition Incorporating Refining and Petrochemicals as a display of the Swedish-Azerbaijani relations. Mr. Abdullayev mentioned the contributions of the Nobel brothers to the development of the country's oil industry in the early twentieth century, appreciated their deeds. Noting a number of innovations carried out by the Nobel brothers in the oil industry for that period, SOCAR President said their memory had perpetuated and SOCAR implemented a number of projects in this direction.

Expressing gratitude for the warm reception, the Secretary General of Swedish Trade Ministry Gunnar Oom said they had visited the memorial museum of Nobel brothers and thanked for such appreciation. The guest noted that common values and historical heritage create a good platform for current and future cooperation. According to the guest, despite the fact that Sweden doesn’t produce oil, petroleum companies and well-known economic organizations operating in this sphere display great interest in cooperation with Azerbaijan and SOCAR. The guest also congratulated of the oil and gas industry workers on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the International Caspian Oil and Gas, Refining and Petrochemicals exhibition and conference.

Expressing his gratitude for greeting and kind words, at the request of guests Mr. Abdullayev gave detailed information about the large-scale investment projects carried out in Turkey and Georgia.

Emphasizing the established favorable investment opportunities in Azerbaijan, SOCAR President said the country is open for Swedish companies, which provide high technology and economically efficient services.

The sides exchanged views on issues of mutual interest.
