OREANDA-NEWS. TBC Bank announced the launch of Visa payWave cards. Visa payWave is a contactless payment solution based on EMV chip technology developed by Visa, which provides secure and fast transactions. With Visa payWave card consumers can pay almost instantaneously in one “wave” at any merchant equipped with Visa payWave contactless POS-terminal. A Visa payWave card doesn’t need to be swiped or dipped into the payment terminal, and customers do not have to sign or enter a PIN for transactions up to 45 GEL.

TBC Bank will be issuing to its client Visa Classic, Visa Gold, Visa Electron and Visa Platinum debit and credit cards enabled with Visa payWave contactless feature. POS-terminals accepting Visa payWave cards were installed at almost all leading retailers in Georgia.

Visa payWave cards meet Visa’s high security standards due to an encrypted security code which is unique for each transaction and is transmitted along with payment information. Furthermore, when making payments consumers bring the card to the contactless terminal with their own hands without giving it to the shop assistant. Merchants also greatly benefit from payWave technology which simplifies payment process, allows three times faster servicing of clients, cuts the lines in the shopping space and reduces cash handling costs.
