OREANDA-NEWS. For the first five months’ period in 2013, NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport served 1,290,863 passengers presenting an increase by 15.3% compared to the same period in 2012. Passenger traffic on domestic routes made up 738,735 passengers (+5%), on international routes – 552,128 passengers (+32.7%).

In May, 2013 monthly passenger traffic in the airport grew by 16% compared to the same period of the previous year and totaled 284,929 passengers. As reported, 163,772 passengers were served on domestic routes (+5.8%) and 121,157 on international routes (+33.5%).

During January – May of the current year, the airport provided operation of 14,620 ATMs (+6.7%). In May it reports 3,226 ATMs which is a 7.1% rise compared to the same period in 2012.

The year-to-date freight traffic estimates 11,592 tons (+9%) including 2,545 tons of cargo and mail handled in May (+2%).

NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport is the largest air hub east of the Urals on major transit routes between Europe and Asia. The domestic airline capacity makes up 1,800 passengers per hour, on international flights – 750 passengers per hour. The airport has two runways. In 2013 it expects to serve over 3.7 million passengers and handle over 35 thousand tons of cargo and mail.
