OREANDA-NEWS. June 13, 2013. Recently, the 2013 Work Conference on Science and Technology of Agricultural Bank of China Limited (ABC) was held in Beijing. With a focus on the strategy of “science and technology first”, the meeting proposed to promote integration of business and technology, stand up to the challenge of Internet finance, strive to become a top-grade IT-based bank, and reach a higher level of IT-based development.

In the next few years, ABC IT-based development will follow the principle of “scientific development in pursuit of excellence”, rely on major projects construction, and be supported by enhanced IT management. The strategy of “science and technology first” well be fully implemented to promote integration between business and technology and take control of the commanding height of Internet finance. No efforts will be spared to build a top-grade IT-based bank with leading innovation ability in science and technology, safe production and operation and advanced IT management system.

ABC will actively execute the “three major projects” in scientific and technological innovation, so as to shape its competitive edges. It will strive to build up the BoEing system and an advanced core banking system. It will also ride along the trend of Internet finance and construct an all-round financial service pattern both online and offline. The “data islands” will be connected to improve ability in data management and service.

Meanwhile, ABC will enhance its ability in IT risk control to ensure the safety of the production and operation systems. Efforts will be made to further implement the production safety accountability system, strengthen basic management and building for production and operation, reinforce information safety management and meet supervisory requirements. With IT management ability to be improved, ABC will explore to establish a “grand science and technology” system, improve the organizational structure for science and technology, enhance full-process project management and further curb IT cost to improve its innovation capability in science and technology.
