The company has geared up its preparedness in Mumbai in its endeavour to provide an uninterrupted power supply to its customers. With the arrival of pre-monsoon showers and to meet exigencies arising out of various situations during the rains, such as water logging, power failures, electrical shocks, sparking, fire, etc, Tata Power has initiated a proactive action plan to minimise inconvenience to the customers in Mumbai.

The company has adopted several measures to minimise inconvenience to customers and ensure their safety. Pre-monsoon checks and preventive maintenance of equipments have been carried out at both, distribution sub-stations and consumer sub-stations. Adequate de-watering pumps have been installed at all distribution and consumer sub-stations to avoid flooding. Tarpaulins have been procured and kept at selected locations and inspection of critical locations has been completed for water leakages and flooding. Vehicles with necessary implements to handle emergencies have been kept in readiness. Dedicated services team and fault duty engineers are available in case of emergency and have been strategically placed at various nodes of the city to cater to any emergency. Adequate stock of essential spare parts, tools and equipments, including transformers, switchgears, etc, have been kept. This would help the company in minimising the response time towards power interruptions.

Speaking on Tata Power’s monsoon preparedness, S Padmanabhan, executive director (operations), Tata Power, said, "We have taken pre-emptive measures to minimise customers woes during the monsoons and ensure their safety. Further, we request all our customers to support company’s efforts in achieving total safety by following the safety guidelines shared by the company."
