OREANDA-NEWS. Gerry P. Smith, President of Lenovo Americas Group, was honored today as one of STEMconnector’s “100 CEO Leaders in STEM” for his role in Lenovo’s ongoing commitment to STEM. As a global PC industry leader and number one worldwide in the education sector, Lenovo has long been dedicated to K-12 and higher education initiatives as a pillar of its corporate social responsibility investments.  The recognition was presented at today’s 2013 STEM Solutions Summit in Austin, TX.

“I am honored to receive this recognition on behalf of Lenovo and the great work we do in education and specifically in STEM,” said Gerry Smith, Lenovo Americas Group president. “Lenovo’s goal is to enable younger generations with technology that will help them advance in such important fields as science, engineering and math -- that are the driving force of our business,” he added. “We will continue to enhance and extend education at all levels through our industry-leading products and technologies, community investments and program sponsorships.”

As a global company, Lenovo supports a number of social investments, including a focus on education-related programs and initiatives.  Gerry Smith oversees Lenovo’s STEM education efforts in the U.S., which involve donating technology equipment, providing internship programs and lending Lenovo’s expertise to schools and related organizations. Lenovo supports education investments in both K-12 and higher education.
