OREANDA-NEWS. June 26, 2013. Eurasia Insurance Company has paid RUR16m to Russian insurance company ROSLES in respect of the total loss of the spacecraft "Sich-2".

The spacecraft "Sich-2" was insured for the total amount equal to USD 7.5m, half of which was replaced in Kazakhstan reinsurance market, including Eurasia Insurance Company.

In late November 2012 as a result of abnormal battery chemical energy subsystem, the spacecraft "Sich-2" (serial number 70181401) an emergency has developed, which led to a complete loss of the spacecraft and the impossibility of its further operation in orbit.

The spacecraft "Sich-2" was launched to provide timely information about the situation in large areas of land, sea and ocean space, as well as weather monitoring and retrieval of geophysical effects in the ionosphere of the Earth.

In 2008, Eurasia Insurance Company reached new heights by being appointed as an approved reinsurer for the Ariane Space Programme. In addition, the company is included in the official list of highly reliable insurers of the European Space Agency (ESA) and collaborates with many world space technology leaders.
