OREANDA-NEWS. Commissioning tests of Water Block No.2 have been started at the "TANECO" Oil Refining and Petrochemical Plants Complex, which will cool, filter and resupply recycled water to the process facilities of the combined hydrocracking installation.

The 12,800 cubic meters per hour Water Block consists of six modular cooling tower sections of the fifth generation BMG-3000, buried pumping stations with submersible CP Flyght pumps (Sweden) and recycled water pipelines, transformer substation, outdoor water-supply and sewerage networks and structures and production complex, including the operator's room, chemicals and acid facilities, as well as the filter unit.

A distinctive feature of the Water Block comparing with such facilities of the previous generation is its compact size (area of 1.25 hectare) achieved through application of small size cooling towers and space effective pumping stations.

Today, Water block No.2 is the most advanced complex of technical water supply for production enterprises in the Russian Federation. BMG-3000 cooling towers are furnished with modern Simens manufactured antistatic fan equipment, Loher explosion-proof electric motors, highly efficient sprinklers and paraboloidal diffusers.

All the equipment mounted at the facility is extremely reliable, highly efficient, energy efficient, easy in operation and maintenance. Control of the water system is fully automated with application of the automated process control system and Yokogava electronic sensors. This allows executing processes with maximum efficiency and minimum losses.

The most serious attention in the course of construction was paid to safety aspects. The purpose of the technologies and equipment applied is to prevent any emergencies.

All the planned works on engineering design, construction, equipment supply and installation have been completed within recordingly short time since May 2012 to June 2013.

22,400 cubic meters per hour Water Block No.1 supplies water to the first stage process facilities of the "TANECO" Oil Refining and Petrochemical Plants Complex and it was put into operation in 2010.
