OREANDA-NEWS. July 01, 2013. Severstal, one of the world’s leading steel and steel-related mining companies, has been ranked as the second most competitive global steelmaker in a June report by World Steel Dynamics (WSD), having been ranked third in the WSD rating in 2012.

Severstal was placed ahead of other major international steelmakers including Nucor (USA, 3rd position) and NLMK (Russia, 4th position).

The report ranked 34 leading global steel companies by 25 different categories and parameters including: profitability; cost efficiency; financial stability, and health & safety and environmental performance. Severstal received its highest ratings in the commodity policy efficiency, high-growth markets and cost efficiency categories.
