OREANDA-NEWS. July 02, 2013. Ukraine International Airlines has delivered unique exhibits from the collections of the Crimean museums to be displayed at thematic exhibition opening in Bonn, Germany.

Show-pieces of several largest Crimean museums – Taurida, Bakhchisaray and Kerch Conservation Areas, Tauric Chersonese National Nature Reserve, Museum of Historical Treasures of Ukraine, and Odessa Archaeological Museum are exceptionally rare and thus valuable. These historical and cultural Crimean treasures date back to the period of the early 6th century BC to the 6th – 7th centuries AD (the Early Middle Ages).

In Germany, the museum show-pieces will be represented at the specialized exhibition called “Crimea – the golden island in the Black Sea. The Greek – the Scythians – the Goths” which will be open to public starting July 3 in Bonn. UIA carried the valuable cargo on its special freight PS 498 Kiev – Vienna and PS 032 Vienna – Liege flights on June 25, 2013. Having arrived to Liege the Crimean treasures were transported to Bonn by ground vehicle.

“UIA regularly lends support to ambitious cultural projects, rendering air transportation services to museums, theaters, and music bands, – noted Petr Kuharchuk, UIA Director Cargo & Logistics. – The Crimean treasures carried to Germany – jewelry, architectural monuments’` copies, ceramics artwork, sculptures, etc – is an extremely delicate and demanding cargo. Transportation of such a precious cargo requires the carrier to secure the presence of a courier attendant on board as well as to guarantee special service during cargo handling and transportation – fluctuations in temperature, humidity and pressure are unacceptable. Having long-term experience in cargo delivery of any degree of complexity Ukraine International Airlines dealt successfully with such an offbeat and responsible task and delivered the valuable cargo to its final destination perfectly safe”.

As soon as the exhibition in Germany ends, the exhibits will be transported to the Netherlands and then the Crimean treasures will be delivered to and displayed in Italy, Belgium, and even Japan.
