OREANDA-NEWS. The Rybinsk-based P.A. Solovyev Aviation Technical University has begun implementing the President's program for improving the qualification level of the engineering cadre in the period of 2012-2014 approved by the decree of the president of the Russian Federation as of May 7, 2012 with regard to the NPO Saturn's prioritized fields of interest: Quality management in efficient machine building", "Power-saving technologies", "Modern technologies of fabrication, assembly and tests of gas turbine engines and gas turbine units".

On June 24, 2013 P.A. Solovyev Rybinsk State Technical Aviation University (RGATU) launched a training course "Quality management in mechanical engineering" for the NPO Saturn employees. The training curriculum consists of three phases: theoretical part with a subsequent presentation of a graduate work at RGATU, an internship program in Russia's leading companies and benchmarking trips abroad. At that, those who will demonstrate the best results during the first phase of training will be the ones eligible for follow-on traineeship.

Speaking of the importance of this program, NPO Saturn quality director Sergey Antropov said that: "for training the company selects the most successful and promising engineers. It is essential for the company that its employees know the requirements adhered to by the entire world with Russia joining the WTO last year. The product we produce - gas turbine engines - is one of the most science-intensive products therefore the understanding that the customers expect this product to comply with the most rigorous quality requirements is a must for all the employees. We expect our personnel to demonstrate a high level of knowledge and as a result there is confidence that the engines we make will feature everything that the world market wants them to have".

Participation in the president's program provides NPO Saturn with wider and higher-quality opportunities to increase the qualification of its engineering and technical staff with a substantial government co-financing of the programs offered by higher-learning institutions.

In September 2013 RGATU plans to deploy training courses focused on the "Power-saving technologies" and "Modern technologies of fabrication, assembly and tests of gas turbine engines and gas turbine units".

In the frame of the President's program for improving the qualification level of the engineering cadre the NPO Saturn employees are also trained at the STANKIN Moscow State Technological University on five educational programs: "Organization of resource-saving production setup's", "Modernization of processes and equipment in missile and space engineering", "Methods and instruments for measuring angular and linear dimensions of military applications", "Design of special tools made of nano-structured tool materials featuring nano coatings for high-tech companies in the defense-industrial complex and nuclear power engineering", "Programming and fabrication of complex parts using NC-machines in high-tech mechanical engineering".

The universities have a formidable base for qualification upgrade of the personnel while NPO Saturn is interested in improving the qualification level of its employees. Such programs are aimed at solving tasks the companies are faced with on a daily basis and carry clear practical utility therefore the program participants have no doubt this undertaking will yield good results.
