OREANDA-NEWS. July 03, 2013. According to the World Wildlife Fund of Russia (WWF) JSC "Surgutneftegaz" and JSC TATNEFT demonstrated highest rates of associated petroleum gas (APG) utilization in 2012 among oil and gas production companies.

The world wildlife Fund of Russia (WWF) supported by the economic faculty of the Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov has presented an analytical report on the economic and environmental costs of associated petroleum gas flaring in Russia. The Fund is one of the largest independent nature conservation organizations uniting about 5 million supporters and with a global network active in more than 100 countries The WWF of Russia has been collecting and analyzing statistic data on the major oil companies of the country in terms of associated petroleum gas utilization for five years.

Government Resolutions No.7 (2009) and No.1148 (2012) set a 95-percent standard of associated petroleum gas utilization and heavy fines for excessive flaring.

TATNEFT Company continues implementation of the corporate program for utilization of associated petroleum gas (APG) designed for 2009-2013. The program provides for maintaining the 95 percent level of effective associated petroleum gas utilization.

Production of associated petroleum gas at JSC TATNEFT amounted to 887.9 million m3 in 2012.

The assimilated areas of APG utilization in JSC TATNEFT include processing at the Company's own gas processing facilities with output of gas products, use as fuel for crude oil heaters and in power generation plants.
