ICBC won the "Best Return to Shareholders" award at the recent Eighth "Survey on Chinese Listed Company in Competitiveness and Public Confidence" hosted by Chinese Securities Journal in recognition of excellent return to shareholders. ICBC is the only large bank to win the awards.

ICBC generated cash dividends to shareholders to a sum of RMB 380.4 billion, according to the data between the period since the Bank going public in 2006 to end of 2012. From 2008 till today, ICBC is the No.1 A-share listed company in generating highest return to shareholders for five years in a row. Moreover, cash dividend percentage every year is higher than the interest rate of 1-year fixed deposit of the same period. In 2012, ICBC distributed about RMB 83.6 billion cash dividends, a jump of RMB 12.7 billion from a year earlier. ICBC leads all other banks in China with a dividend yield ratio of 5.76%.

ICBC adopts a mission of "Excellent Services to Clients, Maximum Returns to Shareholders, Real Success for Employees, Great Contribution to Society" after going public, said an executive with the Bank. ICBC pays equal attention to current income and consistent return to shareholders, sustainable growth of ICBC and stable development of capital market, with emphasis on dividend management, relationship among retained profits, dividends and capital supplement. While maintaining stable share price, generating large return and cash dividends to all investors has always been ICBC’s top priority, showing the value of long-term investment in ICBC.
