OREANDA-NEWS. Beginning on 6 to 17 July 2013, Aeroexpress trains servicing Kazan routes will run at night – two pairs of night services have been added to the train timetable. During the Universiade, there will be 22 Aeroexpress trains operating per day.

Four night services have been added to the basic timetable, according to which nine pairs of trains currently service Kazan routes every day. The night trains will depart from Kazan Airport at 02:00 and 04:00 and run in the opposite direction at 03:00 and 05:10. Starting from 4 July, the regular daily timetable will be amended. Travel time will not exceed 20 minutes. Aeroexpress trains will depart from the rail terminal every two hours between 08:00 and 00:15. Return services from the airport to the rail terminal will also occur with a two-hour interval, with the first train running at 07:00 and the last one departing at 23:20.

The amended timetable is provided below in more detail.

In May 2013, regular Aeroexpress services were launched in Kazan in preparation for the 27th World Summer Universiade.

The passenger rolling stock operating in Kazan consists of Siemens-produced Desiro Rus trains, which have been specially localised for Russia and are called Lastochka (Swallow). Each Aeroexpress train offers 435 seats, eight of which are reserved for business class passengers. Standard and business class tickets cost RUB 200 and RUB 400 correspondingly.
