OREANDA-NEWS. July 08, 2013. At the end of June 2013, in accordance with the schedules, there were started mooring trials on St. Nicholas floating crane being built at SNC shipyard.

Mooring trials are performed at the request of the Register of Shipping and aim at inspecting the main power plant, attended systems and machinery, sonar, and communication technology.

It precedes sea trials which will include test of main operating conditions, propulsion unit (engine, shaft, propellers), auxiliaries, pipelines in the engine room, automatic machinery, propulsive force of the vessel and its maneuvering qualities.

On completion of all trials the vessel will be delivered to NIBULON.

At the same time the following construction work is being finished:

– preparatory work before final painting of the main deck is being completed;
– adjustment of systems, machinery, equipment are finished by representatives of such suppliers as Alfa Laval Aalborg, Volvo Penta, Liebherr, Retek, Sсhottel.

Within the next few days on completion of all trials, receipt of all licensing documents and the vessel’s registration St. Nicholas floating crane will be delivered to the customer!
