OREANDA-NEWS. July 10, 2013. The Government will continue to support the construction of modern vegetable and fruit stores throughout Ukraine. So, over the next two years there will be 16 high-power storages for 140 000 tonnes. These infrastructural facilities will not only provide Ukrainian with fresh fruits and vegetables throughout the year, but it will stabilize prices. This was started by Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Mykola Prysyazhnyuk during his working trip to Crimea.

"The experience of recent years has shown that the construction of storage facilities minimizes fluctuations in the prices of fruits and vegetables during the off-season. Even in winter we have stable and predictable prices," the Minister said.

In addition, construction of storage facilities will minimize dependence on import.

"Ukraine in the world is regarded as an agrarian state, and we have to confirm this status. It is our task to ensure Ukrainian with national product. Even if Ukraine imports of fruit and vegetable products, domestic products should be competitive," the Minister said.

Also Mykola Prysyazhnyuk said that over the next two years in Ukraine will be built 16 storages for storing vegetables, fruits and berries.
