OREANDA-NEWS. In the frame of the VI International military-naval show held in Saint-Petersburg, a collaboration agreement was signed between NPO Saturn OJSC and Zvezdochka ship-repair center OJSC in relation to technical cooperation.

The said agreement is aimed at developing and improving the efficiency of technical cooperation between the companies in the frame of their operations with Russian and foreign counterparts regarding both civil and military products.

“The agreement stipulates joint work on the possible upgrading of the ships which are currently in operation, - commented Dmitriy Novikov, NPO Saturn marine gas turbine engine programs director, - using gas turbine engines and power units designed and manufactured by NPO Saturn. The performance of Russian boat engines built to the technical specifications issued by the Ministry of Defense meets all the modern-day requirements. The implementation of the signed Agreement will facilitate the market promotion of the gas turbine engineering solutions offered by NPO Saturn which serves as an important element of laying the foundation for the purely Russian production of boat gas turbine power plants”.

Research and production association Saturn OJSC is an engine-building company specialized in design and development, production and after-market support of gas turbine engines for military and civil aviation, Navy boats and power-generating plants and gas-pumping units. NPO Saturn is part of United Engine Corporation.
