OREANDA-NEWS. UTair Aviation, in cooperation with Vnukovo International Airport in Moscow and the Russian Federal Consumer Rights Protection and Human Health Control Service (Rospotrebnadzor), held training exercises for the detection of passengers potentially infected with highly contagious diseases aboard its aircraft and procedures related to evacuation and disinfection.

In the ground exercise scenario, UTair aircraft flight crews received a preliminary report indicating a passenger infected with chorea was potentially onboard. The aircraft was then escorted to a sterile zone where passengers were subject to a medical examination and evacuation of the plane. The “infected” passenger and those passengers who had contact with him were isolated. The aircraft cabin was then subject to actual proscribed disinfection procedures.

The exercises verified the efficiency of Rospotrebnadzor's counter-epidemic plan. According to the expert evaluation, all UTair Aviation and Vnukovo International Airport services demonstrated a high level of coordination, mutual understanding and rapid response.
