OREANDA-NEWS. i-Free took part in the White Nights Conference, Europe’s biggest international convention on mobile games, held in St. Petersburg on 27 and 28 June.

WNMobileGamesConference brought together some 800 participants from all parts of the world, including the creators of famous mobile games, market analysts, editors and writers for online game portals. The conference consisted of three concurrent itineraries of lectures and master classes. Big Fish, Chillingo, Facebook, Google, i-Free, Mail.ru, Microsoft, Rovio, Samsung, Supercell, Wooga and ZeptoLab were among the 40 companies that made presentations at White Nights conference.

White Nights addressed some of the most urgent matters confronting the mobile games industry, such as cross-platform marketing, current global trends in mobile app markets, “monetization of emotion” in free-to-play games, appstore analytical data, multiplatform games, and the new opportunities awaiting companies in the Asian markets.

On the second day of the conference, i-Free Publishing Director Nadezhda Antsiferova made a presentation entitled Publishing: Assembly Line Production vs Individually Crafted Games, discussing the upsides and downsides of collaborating with the different publishers. Nadezhda cited statistics to prove her point that smaller publishers, specializing in some area or certain types of games, may sometimes make a better partner than bigger mobile players, which are more likely to lose track of the project in their huge portfolios.

There was a nice surprise in store for the WN participants – an expo area for the conference’s sponsors. The team manning the i-Free stand would readily discuss any collaboration ideas and share their expertise in mobile game publishing and localization.

“We are glad to support industry conventions like this,” said Ekaterina Ivanova, Director of i-Free Events. “They give us new contacts, but more importantly, we get to meet our key clients and partners, whom we represent in China and elsewhere outside Russia.”
