OREANDA-NEWS. OJSC “Russian Sea Group”, CJSC “Russian Fish Company” and LLC “Russian Sea - Kaliningrad” received the resolution of Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russian Federation (FAS) dated 15 of July 2013 regarding violation of antimonopoly legislation on the Russian market of imported Norwegian fish.

In general the Group supports FAS intention to protect Russian market from Russian and foreign suppliers' abuse, to create conditions for fair competition and effective functioning of the whole market. The Group assisted and will continue to assist FAS in this areas by means of elaboration of specific proposals, participation in expert committees and groups as well as in other ways as Russian Sea Group is the only public Russian company in fish industry and it is interested more than any other company in such conditions.

At the same time Russian Sea Group, Russian Fish Company and Russian Sea - Kaliningrad consider that this time FAS hasn't completely investigated the materials of the case, has wrongly interpreted certain circumstances of the case, and unfortunately hasn't analyzed thoroughly the market that was necessary in order to estimate correctly the influence of the Company's actions on market competion. The materials presented by the Group during the commission sessions unambiguously stated that there were no agreements between competitors, competition between participants of allegedly existed cartel was intense and during the time when so called cartel existed the competition became even more intense. Agreements with Norwegian suppliers totally complied with existing international practice and were signed particularly in order to observe Rosselkhoznadzor requirements aimed at provision of economic and food security of Russian Federation as well as improvement of quality of products for consumers.

Therefore Russian Sea Group, Russian Fish Company and Russian Sea - Kaliningrad plan to litigate FAS resolution.
