OREANDA-NEWS. Trubodetal JSC (Chelyabinsk, a part of United Metallurgical Company, CJSC OMK) successfully passed a certification audit for compliance with OHSAS 18001 standard’s requirements. Following the audit’s results, the plant will be issued a conformity certificate which acknowledges that the plant’s occupational health and safety management system complies with the best standards in the world.

To successfully pass this certification audit, much has been done at Trubodetal: regulations and specifications on hazard identification and risk estimation and management have been improved, new instructions on occupational health management have been implemented and more efficient procedures of accident investigation have been developed. All these measures aim, first of all, at increasing the quality level and safety of labor.

During the certification audit, official representatives of TUV NORD CERT in Russia analyzed regulations procedures on risk identification, estimation and control, incident readiness and prompt reaction in various emergency situations implemented at the plant.

Nikolai Rekhlinsky, head of the occupational health and industrial safety department of Trubodetal, said, “Trubodetal Plant passed certification on compliance with OHSAS 18001 international standard for the first time. The successfully passed certification audit is more proof that the plant’s management pays a lot attention to the issues of employees’ health and comfort in labor conditions.”
