OREANDA-NEWS. July 23, 2013. The Office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service in the Magadan region (Magadan OFAS Russia) found that “SopFiT KTV” Ltd., “Far East Telecommunications Company” Ltd. and “Cable Televisison” Ltd. formed a cartel to fix and maintain tariffs and divide the telecommunications market under a geographic principle (in breach of Clauses 1 and 3 Part 1 Article 11 of the Federal Law “On Protection of Competition”).

The case was initiated upon the findings of unscheduled inspections carried out together with the Department of the Ministry of Interior in the Magadan region with regard to these companies.

“SopFiT KTV” Ltd., “Far East Telecommunications Company” Ltd. and “Cable Televisison” Ltd. concluded competition-restricting agreements that resulted in fixing and maintaining prices for telecommunications services, particularly, access to a network of cable TV network for physical and legal persons, subscriber’s fee for delivering TV signal as well as dividing the market under the geographical principle.

The companies will be held administratively liable and must pay turnover fines. OFAS also issued determinations to the companies to eliminate the consequences of violating the antimonopoly law.
