OREANDA-NEWS. Trubodetal JSC (Chelyabinsk, a part of United Metallurgical Company, CJSC OMK) held a ceremony to award the winners of the Excellent Pupil’s Diary annual contest among schoolchildren. This year, students from Novosineglazovo schools and children of the plant’s employees (even those who study in Chelyabinsk) participated in the contest.

This year, the plant held the contest for the third time. In 2011 and 2012, participants were to submit their diaries signed by a teacher and the school headmaster, and this year they have submitted printed electronic form registers.

To win, the contest’s participants should be both good at learning (a winning grade point average is no less than 4.8) and take active part in research and public activities of the form and school.

This year, the contest’s winners are: a student from gymnasium No. 80 (Chelyabinsk) Maria Popova, a student from school No. 144 (Novosineglazovo) Yulia Tsurkan and a student of lyceum No. 87 (Chelyabinsk) Tatiana Yachmennikova. Trubodetal awarded them with gift certificates to an electronics store worth 20,000 rubles.

The plant awarded all of the contest’s participants with prizes: younger students received electronic books, middle shool students - external hard drives and senior students - gift certificates worth 5,000 rubles.

Executive director of Trubodetal Igor Voronin said, “A person’s character and life principles are formed mainly during their school years. We want our children to more actively strive for new knowledge and broaden their outlook. One of the stimulus for that is to encourage academic achievements. I congratule our contest’s winners and hope that the number of excellent pupils will increase every year. This means, the number of our contest’s participants will grow, too.”
