OREANDA-NEWS. Kaspersky Lab announces that Kaspersky Internet Security 2013, a security solution for home users, took top spot in the Home Anti-Virus Protection April - June 2013 testing, conducted by the independent expert organization Dennis Technology Labs.

The Kaspersky Lab solution returned an effectiveness level of 97%, scoring 388 out of a possible 400 points to outstrip all its rivals in the test. According to the test results, Kaspersky Internet Security 2013 qualifies for the top AAA status - the highest classification from Dennis Technology Labs.

The effectiveness of the solutions in the test was determined by their ability to react to threats in real-time, and to find and block threats during antivirus scanning. The number of false positives was also taken into account. The results showed that Kaspersky Internet Security 2013 missed only one threat (while others missed 5.7 on average) and returned just one false positive (average 3.5).

All solutions faced a comparatively small set of 100 threats in the tests. Dennis Technology Labs chose the most urgent malware samples which were currently in use ‘in the wild’ at the time of testing.

“This award from Dennis Technology Labs is an acknowledgement of the quality of our solution’s functionality - its ability to cope with both thousands of known and unknown threats. The testing proves our product works effectively in real-world conditions and that’s something to be proud of,” said Nikita Shvetsov, Deputy CTO (Research) at Kaspersky Lab.

This is the second time in a row Kaspersky Internet Security 2013 has come out top in a quarterly test by Dennis Technology Labs. In May 2013 the expert organization named Kaspersky Lab’s solution the best following a similar test for the first quarter of the year.
