OREANDA-NEWS. The Cherepovets Steel Mill, one of the world’s largest integrated steel mills and part of the Russian Steel division of OAO Severstal, one of the world’s leading steel and steel-related mining companies, announces that it delivered record production of more than 38,000 tonnes of galvanized color-coated steel in June.

Andrei Lutsenko, Operations Officer and Chief Engineer at the Cherepovets Steel Mill commented: “Our production of 38,036 tonnes of galvanized color-coated metal in June is a record achievement and is testament to the work of our teams since the beginning of the year. Over the past six months, production of galvanized colour-coated metal has reached approximately 213,000 tonnes, an increase of 17% over the same period in 2012.”

The output increase can be attributed to a number of factors, including high quality production using leading-edge technology, the use of high quality zinc coating and the company’s cooperation with top European polymer producers.

The launch of a new brand of products dubbed Steel Silk this year has also helped deliver increased sales. Steel Silk is a specialized galvanized color-coated roofing metal and for the first time Severstal is offering a warranty period of up to 25 years for this type of coating.
