OREANDA-NEWS. Transaero growth rate surpasses the average Russian industry rate while the airline continues to strengthen its positions on the national aviation market according to the operational results of the Russian airlines for the month of June and for the first six months of 2013 released by the Transport Clearing House (Russia’s executive body of the Air Transport Settlement System).

This June Transaero for the second consecutive month outperformed Russian airlines in terms of international passenger traffic, measured in Revenue Passenger Kilometers (RPKs). In June its RPKs on international routes reached 3.6 million.

RPKs on domestic routes made up 946.3 million. This result provides for the airline’s second position in the Russian airlines ranking.

According to the results of the first half of 2013 Transaero became number one among Russian airlines in terms of cargo turnover on domestic routes. This indicator increased to 123.9 million tkm.

Transaero ranks the third among Russian airlines in terms of overall cargo turnover that made up 165 million tkm.

In January-June 2013Transaero carried more than 5.49 million people, a 26.4% rise over the first six months of 2012. The airline outperformed its rivals in the top five leading Russian airlines. The average passenger traffic growth in the Russian aviation industry was 17.1%.

Transaero’s seat load factor for the first six months of 2013 reached 83.6%. This is the best result among five Russian largest airlines.

Transaero’s top positions in the industrial rankings proves that the airline is on the right track with implementing its development strategy and making tactical decisions that meet the interests of passengers, partners and the Russian civil aviation as a whole.
