OREANDA-NEWS. Farlep-Invest, a company managing operations of Vega Telecommunications Group, ramped up its total operating revenue by 27.6% to UAH 327.1 million in the first six months of 2013.

Net loss reduced by 32.9% year on year to make UAH 27.9 billion.

In the period under review, the company’s capital investment was UAH 22.1 million, and the Internet subscriber base grew 5% to 152,600 users. The number of fixed-line subscriptions went down 6%, totalling 562,400 customers.

“In line with our strategic commitment of continuous improvement, we invested in higher quality of fixed-line telephony in the first six months of 2013,” commented Vega CFO Sergey Shulga. “The increase in revenues in the period in question comes partly from a growing Internet subscriber base and partly from consolidation of Ucomline and Optima Telecom under Vega’s umbrella in Q2 2012.”

“We managed to ramp up the Internet subscriber base by increasing the number of new subscriptions by 4% and reducing the customer churn by 12% year on year,” said Nataliya Ivanova, Vega’s acting business development director.
