OREANDA-NEWS. In response to the announcement of the Head of the Federal Service on Customers’ Rights Protection and Human Well-being Surveillance of the Russian Federation, Mr. Onishchenko, concerning the ban to import TM ROSHEN confectionery products to the Russian Federation market on the grounds that the products do not confirm with the quality requirements, ROSHEN Confectionery Corporation informs that no official notice from the Federal Service has been sent to the company.

Taking into consideration the claim made on the violation of the Russian Federation legislation, ROSHEN Corporation sent its official request to the Federal Service on Customers’ Rights Protection and Human Well-being Surveillance, to the attention of Mrs Voropayeva, to present to the Corporation Acts confirming such the violation and corresponding to the legislation norms of the Russian Federation. To our regret, during a half-month period Technical Director of ROSHEN Corporation, Mr. Yarandin has not succeeded in meeting with the representatives of the Federal Service in order to present the necessary information, which could be of value to the inspection entities in revealing the truth.

The claim made on the intake of benzopyrene in TM ROSHEN chocolate products, which is viewed by the Federal Service as a break of Russian norms, could not be considered as a claim in the norm breaking, as such norms to confectionery products are not set, the fact confirmed with the Customs Union Technical Regulation TPTC 021/2011. The Regulation contains the norms set for some foods, with the ban for it intake for baby food, foods for pregnant workers and workers who have recently given birth or are breastfeeding. Moreover, norms for benzopyrene intake in chocolate products are not set not only in Ukraine and Russia, but also in EU countries.

Therewith ROSHEN Corporation has grounds to doubt the accuracy in the sampling procedure for the required expertise, basing on the copies of the protocols on sampling food raw materials and foodstuff in retail chains.

As it has been announced earlier, ROSHEN Corporation always has been adherent to the all rules of confectionary products certification and has been strictly following the all required sanitary norms, in accordance with the requirements of public regulatory documentation of Ukraine and the Russian Federation.

For a 15 year period ROSHEN Corporation has been supplying markets of more than 30 countries with its products strictly obeying all requirements and norms on food safety.

ROSHEN Corporation is open for a dialogue, and in the framework of the complaint review, it is ready to invite representatives of the inspection entities to its production facilities in order to conduct unscheduled inspections, which would positively influence on fixing the existing case.
