OREANDA-NEWS. August 02, 2013. After months of works and developments, CEPSA is coming up with new resources in an area where supplies of marine fuels have been requested for long time.

These new facilities have been put in place to attend strategic traffic sailing from/to North Europe to/from South Europe, America, Africa and Asia.

CEPSA is now ready to supply at these two ports by truck and one double-hull barge of 3.000 m3, named Monte Arucas, with rating capacities of 600 m3/h for fuel oils, and 250 m3/h for MGO. This barge will supply from anchorage at Ria de Ares and Ports of Ferrol and La Coruna.

Monte Arucas is also a very special barge since it is selected by EMSA (European Maritime Safety Agency) to protect the environment along the Cantabrian Sea and the Spanish-French coast. It is provided with radar to detect residues, defenses to fight against spills and systems to pump and storage them. By chartering this tanker ship under exclusivity, CEPSA is not only contributing to the protection of the environment but giving it total priority. With this action, the Company goes a step further in its commintment to marine environment protection joining in the Monte Anaga's barge, in Algecira’s Bay.

At the same time, CEPSA is counting with 55.000 m3 storage, from which 5.000 m3 are dedicated to MGO, 40.000 m3 to HSFO and 10.000 m3 to LSFO.

All these means might be enlarged in the future depending on real demand afeter an experimental period of time.

CEPSA celebrates this notable expansion, being conscious that these developments will finally cover the demanded service and supply to an important marine traffic area, and offering once again, better service and more flexibility to its customers.
