OREANDA-NEWS. August 02, 2013. China Development Bank (CDB) recently held in Beijing a welcome ceremony for interns to the 2013 Communist Youth League "Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship Training Base".

Zhou Qingyu, member of the party committee and head of discipline inspection at CDB, attended the ceremony and talked with the interns. In the next two months, 33 students from Peking University, Tsinghua University, and other universities will leave for eight CDB branches in Beijing, Tianjin, Suzhou, Gansu, and other places to participate in relevant work of the bank.

Zhou Qingyu at the meeting pointed out that CDB has always adhered to the responsibility and mission of "enhancing national strength and improving people's livelihood". In recent years, through young entrepreneurs' micro loans and other measures to support youth employment and entrepreneurship, CDB has issued total loans of nearly 5.5 billion yuan to support youth entrepreneurship. To cooperate with universities to jointly build a "Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship Training Base" is an innovative measure by CDB to support youth employment and will play a positive role in helping young students in entrepreneurship and employment.

This year is the fifth consecutive year in which CDB has carried out the work of the "Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship Training Base". Up to now over 100 college students from a number of universities have completed the internship at CDB. Since 2011, CDB has twice cooperated with Peking University in jointly running the "Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship Training Base", and 61 Peking University students have successively done internship at nine CDB branches. This year, on the basis of continued cooperation with Peking University, CDB has added Tsinghua University and others as its cooperative partners.

Li Zheng, a 2012 student intern from the School of Engineering at Peking University, said CDB's "Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship Training Base" offers a very good platform for college students' internship, adding that he has not only learned financial knowledge but also acquired personal experience in basic banking business. Through his 2-month internship, he has gained, with much benefit, a deeper understanding of CDB's advanced managerial experience and outstanding operating performance.
