OREANDA-NEWS. August 05, 2013. The Bank has appointed Roman Shoshev head of its Rostov-on-Don branch. Roman Shoshev’s career at Uniastrum dates to 2006 when he was tasked with developing regional corporate operations from the Bank’s headquarters in Moscow. In 2010 Roman took over as head of the lender’s operations in Tver, a move that prompted a significant improvement in the branch’s financials.

In 2012 the Tver office emerged as one of Uniastrum’s best regional performers. Full-year results show a 35% upturn in total lending, 25% growth in small business loans, and a near 5-fold increase in the branch’s consumer credit portfolio. Meantime, total deposits grew almost 50%, while the retail and corporate deposit portfolios expanded 50% and 40%, respectively.

Roman Shoshev graduated the Kazan Institute of Economics and Finance with a degree in Finance and Credit. After completing his education he worked for the National Bank of the Republic of Tatarstan CBR, followed by stints at various commercial banks, including Akibank, and Novikombank.

“Uniastrum has established a reputation in the Rostov region for high-quality banking services,” Roman notes. “Today our core areas of operation are retail operations, particularly consumer lending and issuing debit and credit cards, as well as crediting and serving the local SME community. We plan to establish leadership positions in these segments.”
