OREANDA-NEWS. August 05, 2013. The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) postponed a case against “Kubanenergo” OJSC in order to obtain additional evidence.

On 18th June 2013, FAS initiated a case against the company upon signs of violating the antimonopoly law (Part 1 Article 10 of the Federal Law “On Protection of Competition”). “Kubanenergo” OJSC failed to exercise technological connection of 65 physical and legal persons to electric power networks in Sochi within the statutory period.

The complaints were also investigated by the Commission for technological connection of power-receiving devices of consumers to electric power network facilities in Sochi resort town during organization of the XXII Winter Olympic Games and the XI Winter Paralympics Games 2014.

The Commission issued recommendations to execute the contracts concluded before 17th July 2012, when moratorium for technological connection came into effect for the period of organizing the Olympic Games. The Commission also stated that it is unacceptable to violate the norms on technological connection.

However, in spite of the orders given by the Commission regarding the violations, FAS continues receiving complaints that “Kubanenergo” OJSC infringed the petitioners’ rights.

The next case hearing is scheduled for 8th August.
