OREANDA-NEWS. August 05, 2013. According to the National Agency for Food Safety of Moldova, these special border control points will be time saving. Moldavian fruits and vegetables will be checked in shorter period of time in order to transport production quicker. To make it possible there were carried out a number of meetings between Russian and Moldavian ministries.

As a result, an Agreement on Fruit and Vegetables Transportation was signed in Cholpon-Ata on June 22, 2012, and later on approved by the government of Moldova on November 6, 2012. Gheorghe Gaberi, director of the National Agency for Food Safety of Moldova, says that this agreement puts more responsibility on Moldavian economic agents, because they will have to pay more attention to quality of exported fruits and vegetables. He explains that only fresh and qualitative production will make it possible keeping this preferential customs regime as well as increase it in future.

The export of Moldavian production to Russia can be made in special and priority regimes (phytosanitary and sanitary and veterinary controls) in the following Russian border points: (a) customs clearance and control department No.2, Novozybkovo, Bryansk region; (b) customs point Borovsk, Kaluga Region, Borovsk-2; (c) customs point Chernogolovka, Moscow Region, Noginsk district, Yamkino; (d) customs point Lviv, Moscow Region, Chekhovian district, Lyubuchansky; (e) customs clearance and control department No.2, Kiev, Moscow Region, Krasnoznamensk.

The Agreement between Russian and Moldova on Fruit and Vegetable Transportation includes all types of fruits, vegetables, and berries. The thing is that not only legal entities, but also individuals can transport it for personal consumption. Victor Barbaneagra, Deputy Minister of Finance of Moldova, thinks that this agreement is going to reinforce existing cooperation between Moldova and Russia and enlarge it in future and speed up transport traffic.

This agreement lists a number of steps to be taken to apply it to life. There will be also a list of identical documents for both Russia and Moldova in order to exclude all possible disagreements in the border points.
