OREANDA-NEWS. August 08, 2013. Marathon Petroleum Corporation (NYSE: MPC) today announced that Steven A. Davis and James E. Rohr were elected to the company's board of directors.

"With the extensive experience of both of these leaders, we are pleased to have Steve and Jim join our board. Their respective backgrounds each provide a unique perspective that will be beneficial to Marathon Petroleum," said Thomas J. Usher, the company's non-executive chairman of the board. "The board will continue to remain focused on increasing shareholder value and maintaining a strong financial profile." Their election increases the size of the board to 12.

Steven A. Davis is chairman of the board and chief executive officer for Bob Evans Farms. Prior to joining the Bob Evans team in 2006, Davis served in a variety of restaurant and consumer packaged goods leadership positions, including president of Long John Silver's and A&W All-American Food Restaurants in 2002. In addition, he held executive and operational positions in Yum! Brands' Pizza Hut division and at Kraft General Foods.

Currently, Davis serves as a board member of the Walgreen Co. He is also a member of the board of the Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute Foundation.

In 2011, Davis was appointed to the board of JobsOhio, Ohio's private non-profit corporation, which leads the state's job creation and economic development activities. He is also a member of the Columbus Partnership, which supports regional economic development in central Ohio.

Davis graduated with a bachelor in business administration from the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee and received a master in marketing and finance from the University of Chicago.

James E. Rohr is executive chairman of The PNC Financial Services Group, a large diversified financial services company. He joined PNC in 1972. Rohr has held numerous leadership positions with PNC, including chief executive officer, vice chairman, director and chief operating officer.

Rohr is a director of BlackRock Inc., ATI Corporation and EQT Corporation. He also currently serves as president of the Federal Advisory Council of the Federal Reserve System. Rohr is involved in several educational and civic organizations, including The Heinz Endowment, Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Notre Dame.

Rohr earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1970 from the University of Notre Dame and his masters in business administration from The Ohio State University in 1972.
