OREANDA-NEWS. Ensuring labour safety conditions and creation of comfortable working conditions are the priority tasks of integrated iron and steel works “Zaporizhstal”. Following Metinvest Group principles of corporate social responsibility, the Works consistently completes these tasks. Since the beginning of 2013, the Works has already invested about 3 mln UAH for these purposes.

 Starting with August of 2012, various programmes have been implemented at the Works. They are aimed at creation of optimum labour conditions, repair and renovation of the sanitary and personal service rooms of the production shops, providing the employees with uniform of improved type, as well as with personal protection equipment.

 Since the beginning of 2013, 72 climate control systems and 38 modern soda water machines with the function of salt addition were installed in the main production shops of the Works to provide comfortable labour conditions. In total the Works invested about 731 thousand UAH into providing optimum water consumption and temperature conditions.

 “Concern for people is at the heart of all our projects. Along with efficiency and safety, it is very important for people to feel as comfortable as possible at their work places. Starting with August of 2012, we have been implementing the capital repairs programme of sanitary and personal service rooms in the Works’ main production shops. In 2012 we invested about 920 thousand UAH, the investments of the second stage of the programme amount to 2.2 mln UAH”, pointed out the General Director of integrated iron and steel works “Zaporizhstal” Rostislav Shurma.

 We would like to remind you that in August 2012 the Works invested 35 mln UAH into purchasing of new uniform of improved type and higher comfort for the employees, as well as personal protection equipment. In the period of August-December, 2012, the Works steered 350 thousand UAH for purchasing and installation of the air-conditioners and split systems at the hot zones of operation. Besides, in the second half of 2012 the Works invested 2 mln UAH for purchasing of gas analyzers, with the aim of raising the level of industrial safety.
