OREANDA-NEWS. Transaero Airlines has published its financial results under Russian Accounting Standards (RAS) for the first six months of 2013 which demonstrate the Company’s significant and sustainable growth on a year-on-year basis.

Revenue from all activities in January-June 2013 reached RUB 48.3 billion, 19% more than in January-June 2012.

Net income reached RUB 261.915 million, a 54% increase over the first six months of 2012.

Transaero’s asset value has increased by 27.8% over June 2012 reaching RUB 93.0 billion.

In the first six months of 2013 Transaero’s passenger turnover increased by 21.5% and reached 21.9 billion RPK. The number of passengers carried grew by 26.4% and amounted to 5.49 million passengers. Transaero cargo traffic increased by 5.9% to 29,000 tonnes.

Olga Pleshakova, Transaero CEO said: “We are satisfied with the Company’s financial and operational results for the first six months of 2013. This RAS statement clearly demonstrates the financial strength of the airline. The increase in revenue as well as a significant growth of net income shows the efficiency of the airline’s operations, with the passenger load factor reaching 83.5%. This is the best result among the five largest Russian carriers. It is also important that Transaero’s share of the Russian air transport market in terms of passenger traffic reached 21.5%. The airline’s management will continue to do everything necessary to ensure the steady progressive development of Transaero.”
