OREANDA-NEWS. Belarus saw the consumer price index grow 1% in July 2013 and 8% since early this year, the National Statistics Committee told.

The price for foodstuffs rose by 0.6% on the month (7.5% since the beginning of the year).

The price for potatoes rose by 31% on the month, tobacco goods - 15%, wheat flour - 3.6%, bread - 2.5%, sugar, - 5%, tea - 1%, butter - 0.8%, confectionery - 0.8%.

Non-food prices rose by 0.4% on the month and 2.9% since December 2012.

In particular, bikes and bicycles - 1.5%, medicines - 0.4%, construction materials - 0.7%, domestic appliances - 0.6%. Footwear prices fell by 0.3%, furniture - 0.1%.

As formerly reported, Belarus inflation limit for 2013 is 12%. In 2012 consumer prices rose by 21.8% against the limit of 19-22%.
