OREANDA-NEWS. August 22, 2013. In January-July 2013, the volume of cargo transportations in Moldova increased by 15% amounting to USD 6 million 299.5 thousand tons. As it was informed in the National Bureau of Statistics, in July 2013 the enterprises of railway, road, river and air transport of Moldova transported 1 million 322.9 thousand tons of cargo, up 18% compared to the previous month and 19% more than in July of the last year.

In January-July 2013, the volume of rail traffic increased in comparison with the same period of the last year by 18.2% - up to 2 million 601 thousand tons. The largest share in the total volume of goods loaded at stations in the first 7 months of 2013, accounted for grain and flour products - 31.5% (in January-July 2012 -19.1%), ferrous metals and scrap metal - 18.8% (22.8%), building materials and cement - 14.6% (23.7%).

The volume of road transportations of cargo in January-July 2013 increased by 12,6% - up to 3 million 615.7 thousand tons. The most significant road transportations of cargo accounted for Chisinau municipality companies (55.4%) and Balti (7.7%), followed by: Nisporeni region (5.3%) Orhei (4.7%), Ialoveni (3.9%), Floresti (3.3%), Anenii Noi (2.9%), Straseni (2.7%), Taraclia and Singerei (1.9%), Soroca (1.8%), Rezina (1.4%), Hancesti, Riscani and Edinet regions (1%). During 7 months of 2013, cargo river transportations in Moldova increased by 18.6% - up to 82.1 thousand tons and cargo air transportations decreased by 25% - up to 0.7 tons.
