OREANDA-NEWS. August 30, 2013.  “In 2013 in Ukraine the flights are performed by 9 low-cost air companies, into which around 20% of the market of general conveyance falls. Only from the year’s start these companies have opened 7 more flights to Georgia (Wizz Air Ukraine) from airports of Donetsk and Kharkiv, to Germany (Wizz Air Ukraine), Italy (AirOne company), Spain (Vueling), Norway (Norwegian), Latvia (AirBaltic). In autumn there will be opened 5 more new flights,” Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Olexandr Vilkul has said during festive events dedicated to the rite of passage freshmen into students at the National Aviation University (NAU).

He stressed the Government facilitates to the work of low-cost companies (they are also called airlines-discounters) that provide an opportunity for the population to fly at low prices. 5 new flights by Wizz Air Ukraine will afford passengers to fly from airport in Kyiv to UAE (Dubai) and from airport in Donetsk to Italy (Milan, Rome), Great Britain (London) and Germany (Memmingen).

In his address to the students of the National Aviation University the Vice Premier said: “Ukraine is among world countries that can boast in aviation and space areas. Our Ruslan and Mriya planes appear the symbol of power of our aviation in the world. Ukraine is among several countries that has conquered the space. We have a huge acquisition. But it places on you, dear students, additional responsibility. You have in hands an opportunity to make the next step in the development of our country, aviation and space.”

This year over 43 thousand applicants submitted documents to the National Aviation University. 1 790 students have been enlisted according to the state order, and 1 148 – after contract.
