OREANDA-NEWS. August 30, 2013. The most significant contract signed on the first day of MAKS-2013 was a three year long maintenance service contract signed by Deputy Minister of Defense Yury Borisov and President of UAC Mikhail Pogosyan in the presence of the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev. The contract provides maintenance services for the aircraft managed by the Russian MoD and totals 85 billion roubles.

The fulfillment of the contract will improve the combat and military transport aircraft serviceability and operational readiness. Under the contract UAC is to consolidate all aircraft life-circle services starting from deliveries to utilization. The integration of all after-sale services under the auspices of UAC will also regulate the service parts stock and replenishment system and improve the designer’s and technical supervision of the aircraft.

On the first day of MAKS-2013 UAC order portfolio increased by 73 Sukhoi Superjet 100 and MC-21 aircraft worth 5 billion US dollars at list prices.

Another notable event of the show was the conclusion in the presence of Mr. Medvedev of a number of contracts aimed at establishment of a competitive sales and financial support system for civil aircraft deliveries.

In particular, two contracts signed with Sberbank and Sberbank Leasing are to build up a competitive and state-of-the-art civil aircraft operating leasing and sales framework. Besides, Sukhoi Civil Aircraft and Sberbank Leasing are planning to set up a joint venture which to provide Sukhoi Superjet 100 leasing and promotion. The joint venture will consolidate Sukhoi Civil Aircraft expertise in creation of state-of-the-art aircraft and their subsequent technical support with the current expertise and opportunities of Sberbank Leasing Group in the market of operative leasing with the use of the best world practices.

The Export Insurance Agency of Russia (EXIAR) and the United Aircraft Corporation signed a Memorandum of Strategic Cooperation which implies development of a special insurance program to cover export credits for Sukhoi Superjets 100 foreign customers. The program is to be updated to the state-of-the-art requirements of the world financial institutions which extend credit programs for Sukhoi Superjet 100 exports.

“We achieved great results on the first day of MAKS. The most important thing is that we signed agreements which cover not only aircraft deliveries but also a number of UAC strategic activities which include services and maintenance support, development of an effective system of cooperation with foreign partners including building up competitive financial tools for deliveries promotion. We still have a number of other important events in store and will definitely inform you about new contracts on the following days of the show,” - said Mikhail Pogosyan, President of the United Aircraft Corporation.
