OREANDA-NEWS. The LOTOS Group has once again taken sixth place among the 500 largest companies of Central and Eastern Europe. The Company was qualified to its top position after its revenue in the analysed period of 2012 amounted to as much as PLN 33.1bn.

LOTOS' advance to this high spot in 2012 is a result of the streamlining of its operations throughout the organisation and, above of all, of the optimum use of the refinery's installations following the recently completed 10+ Programme. Stronger sales also contributed, particularly in liquid fuels, which altogether upped revenues to the record high.

By simply following the Company's development strategy until 2015, we have demonstrated that LOTOS can weather economic hardships without slowing its pace. In its report, COFACE pointed to the impressive year-on-year increase of the Company's profit, which amounted to 42.1%.

In their previous three rankings, Grupa LOTOS was placed fifteenth, tenth, and sixth respectively.

Polish companies ranked at top
It should also be noted that among the top ten companies of this year's ranking, five are based in Poland. Altogether 171 companies, or 34%, are from Poland. Notable among other statistical data is the fact that eight of the ten highest-ranked companies from the CEE Top List are in Oil or Energy.
