OREANDA-NEWS. A new high-performance longwall (No.1732) launched at SUEK-Kuzbass' Komsomolets Colliery.

The longwall is 300 m long, its reserves are 1.4 mln tonnes of coal. The minable thickness of the Breyevsky seam is 2.3 m. The coal is removed by a mechanized system consisting of 108 roof supports Tagor 15/32 (Poland) and 66 roof supports Glinik15/32 (Poland), a 4LS-20 shearer, an “Anzhera 34” longwall conveyor, a PSP-308 stage loader. The planned monthly workload for the new longwall is 200,000 tonnes.

The peculiarity of the longwall is its coal-hauling system. For the first time in the colliery's 80-year history the coal is hauled from the working face to the skip shaft using conveyor type transport. The colliery quit using electrically driven haulage tubs having received a modern 2 km conveyor chain featuring a 1,200 mm belt.

Another novelty in the Company is using a polymer mesh in the disassembly room for the seam that thick, thus providing quality and safety of disassembling.
