OREANDA-NEWS. The 39th European Rotorcraft Forum gets underway today at the Moscow Marriott Grand Hotel. The three-day Forum is organized by Russian Helicopters (a subsidiary of Oboronprom, part of State Corporation Rostec) and runs through 6 September.

Dozens of scientists and experts from Russia, the US, France, the UK, Germany, Italy, Spain, Japan and other countries will participate in the Forum’s themed sessions. In total there will be about 250 participants, representing major construction bureaus, research centres and institutes such as the Central Aerohydrodynamic Institute, the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency, the German Aerospace Center and ONERA, as well as leading helicopter developers and producers. The Forum will discuss topics including current trends in materials and aerodynamics, integration of on-board systems, and operational and safety issues.

Established in 1975, the European Rotorcraft Forum a major event for the global helicopter community. It is traditionally of significance for aviation science and the global helicopter industry, as it sets out key areas of development and lays the foundations for new solutions and innovations, and helps define the appearance of the helicopter of the future.
