In August, the Department for Environmental Safety and Rational Management of Natural Resources of OJSC Irkutskenergo was officially issued with certificate No. 210-38-13-6-09 confirming that in 2013 OJSC Irkutskenergo became a member of the Russian Water and Wastewater Association in accordance with the decision made by the general meeting of members of the Association in April 2013.

The Russian Water and Wastewater Association is a non-profit organization created for coordinating the work and protecting the rights and property interests of the members of the Association, as well as for representing their interests in government and other agencies and international organizations.

By consolidating and summarizing the issues of Russian water and sewage utilities and the sector as a whole, the Association participates in developing and drafting industry laws, submits proposals to the relevant ministries and agencies concerning amendments to existing laws and regulations, organizes R&D forums, workshops and conferences, and actively participates in all Russian and international industry events.

OJSC Irkutskenergo’s entry into the Russian Water and Wastewater Association will enable it to influence the adoption of by-laws pursuant to Federal Law No. 416-FZ “On Water Supply and Wastewater Disposal” dated December 7, 2011, by submitting proposals to federal authorities concerning developing draft regulations, amending and abolishing the existing regulations on water supply and wastewater disposal, formulating and pursuing the government policy on water supply and wastewater disposal on the regional and municipal level.
