OREANDA-NEWS.  September 04, 2013. Industrial production of Uzbekistan increased by 8.2% year-on-year in January-June 2013 to 28.494 trillion soums, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.

Consumer goods production reached 10.107 trillion soums. The growth rate made up 14.4% year-on-year. Of which 4.332 trillion soums (+7.9%) were food products and 5.755 trillion soums (+19.8%) – non-food products.

Machinery and metal processing (18.3% of total industrial output), fuel industry (17.1%), light industry (13.4%) and food industry (13.1%) accounted largest share in industrial output.

At the same time share of fuel industry fell 2.1 percentage points compared to the first half of 2012 and machinery and metal processing rose by 2.8 percentage points. Share of food industry decreased by 0.5 percentage point in the reporting period.

In January-June 2013, the fuel industry produced goods for 4.885 trillion soums (+2.5%), machinery and metal processing – 5.22 trillion soums (+23%), light industry – 3.809 trillion soums (+15.1%) and food industry – 3.723 trillion soums (+7.1%).
