OREANDA-NEWS. A delegation of the Sterlitamak-based NPO Stankostroenie and Gruppa Stan companies visited NPO Saturn. The purpose of the visit was to get familiar with the NPO Saturn production system as well as conducting of technical talks and discussing the feasibility of joint engineering projects to be proposed to the market of manufacturing blades, blisks, disks and aircraft engine housings under the collaboration between the Sterlitamak-based companies NPO Stankostroenie and Gruppa Stan, NPO Saturn, Saturn Tooling Plant (SatIZ), New Tooling Solutions (NIR) and Perm Tooling Plant.

“We are very impressed with what we saw at NPO Saturn today, - summarized Sergey Nedoroslev, a shareholder of the Sterlitamak-based NPO Stankostroenie. - Our experts received the answers to all the questions which were of interest to them and saw a lot of exciting things. Since the Company is using a certain number of the Sterlitamak-supplied equipment, we were given a chance to talk to those who operate our machines directly on the shop floor and touch base on the prospects of our collaboration in the future. Once again we saw it for ourselves that Saturn is by far the most serious enterprise in terms of the quantity and quality of the technology used and machine tools available in the Company”.

“Recently we have toured around many different companies and here we have seen the highest level of production excellence, - continued Ruslan Zvyagintsev, president of the Sterlitamak-based NPO Stankostroenie company. - It is very natural to want to collaborate with such flagship companies of the Russian machine-building industry, and be supported in the development of your very own machine tools. And if our plans are destined to materialize, we shall commit ourselves to achieving the specified level of performance through the supply of such equipment which would at least equal or in some cases even outperform the foreign-made analogs. I find this feasible as our group not only has the world-class specialists but also the needed culture and many years of practical experience.

NPO Saturn and NPO Stankostroenie have a long-standing business relationship; from 2005 to 2008 we were in active collaboration but unfortunately the crisis and some other objective aspects had led to a decrease in the intensity of our working together, - says Viktor Zharinov, sales director of the Sterlitamak-based NPO Stankostroenie company. - And therefore my main goal as the sales director is to restore that great relationship we had before and ultimately increase the volume of our equipment supply while upgrading the pool of the machine tools we delivered to Saturn in the period from 2005 to 2008.

It is evident that by now Saturn has accumulated a tremendous backlog of knowledge - scientific and research-related which to us, the machine-tool engineers, are of great interest in terms of the further development of our business. Because to us it is the end user of our products - our Customer - is the one who specifies new products and sets new challenges to us. As a result, this was a very fulfilling visit for all of us; we saw many new things and understood what needs to be worked on further down the road”.

“I haven’t visited Saturn over the past four years; during this time the Company has undergone some terrific renovation, I can no longer recognize this company: new engineering and production facilities, state-of-the-art machine tools and the cutting-edge technologies, - adds Valeriy Zinov, head of design of the Sterlitamak-based NPO Stankostroenie company. - It’s great to realize that Russia can still boast such high-tech companies. And, of course, to us as machine-tool engineers, it is a great honor to deal with such a formidable and serious enterprise as NPO Saturn. We are excited to have had this visit and do look forward to fruitful collaboration in the future.
