OREANDA-NEWS. September 09, 2013. The Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan organized a press conference on the topic “Employment issues under the attention of banks" at the National Press Center.

As was noted during the event a great attention to the creation of new industrial enterprises , upgrading and expansion of existing , encouraging entrepreneurship , family businesses and home-based work, paid under the leadership of President Islam Karimov, is an important factor in facilitating employment. In the Year of Well-being and Prosperity ongoing work in this direction is taking ever-broadening scope.

During the past eight months because of allocated investments by commercial banks over 600,000 jobs were created. In particular, 157 billion soums were allocated to the development of family business and handicrafts, support of agricultural producers and the purchase of cattle, 48 billion soums- for establishing new and renovating existing orchards and vineyards, 119 billion soums of investments for the expansion of poultry , fish farming , bee-keeping. As a result, tens of thousands of people were provided with jobs.

In addition, 28.1 billion soum loans were directed by commercial banks of Uzbekistan to development of agro-processing and food production through the creation of new, reconstruction and modernization of existing enterprises.

According to the vice chairman of the Agrobank Open Joint-Stock Commercial Bank Alisher Muratov, for the past period of the year the work on financial improvement of more than 22 bankrupt companies have been carried carried out, as a result of which 30,000 new jobs have been created.

In accordance with the Decree of the President Islam Karimov on 28 July 2010 " On additional measures to involve graduates of educational institutions in entrepreneurial activity" for the past period of the year business projects of more than 7.2 thousand graduates have been approved for implementation and over 60 billion soums were allocated for that purpose. It is 2.6 times more than in the same period last year.

The Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan has been organizing meetings, discussions, workshops, training sessions, which provide comprehensive information on the benefits provided for representatives of small businesses and entrepreneurship.
