OREANDA-NEWS. The builders are conducting preparations for commissioning of the new stations of Moscow subway Tagansko-Krasnopresnenskaya line. Lermontovsky Prospekt and Zhulebino stations are practically completed and ready for inauguration in October.

The builders told the children about the Moscow subway system history, the subway construction methods, operation of tunnel-boring machines, and about the future of subway where 79 new stations will open in Moscow by the year 2020 so that the majority of Moscow residents will live within a walking distance from a subway station. Representatives of the city government headed by Sergey Sobyanin, Mayor of Moscow, and Marat Khusnullin, Deputy Mayor for Urban Development, attended to the field trip. After the field trip, S. Sobyanin and M. Khusnullin took the subway train to ride to Zhulebino station where they had a meeting with local residents.

“The builders will have to complete a small site, which has been delayed because of weather and geological challenges. I have instructed not to expedite the construction operations so as to do everything in a reliable manner and with high quality because these stations will be in service for many decades,” said Sergey Sobyanin during the meeting with the residents.

Tagansko-Krasnopresnenskaya line will be extended to suburban Kotelniki where a subway transfer system will be built. Two new stations, Lermontovsky Prospekt and Zhulebino, will open in October 2013. Kotelniki station will open next year.
